My sweet baby girl is rounding the very last bend to “1.” She had a very slow start but picked up the pace and is just oh so toddlerific.
She throws tantrums, she throws things, she laughs REALLY loud, and she’s a girl who wears her emotions on her sleeve. If she doesn’t like something, she will definitely let you know. If she loves something, she will reward you with so much love and affection. I can hear her downstairs now babbling with her daddy about Bears football while she eats a super late lunch.
Her birthday is on December 14th, the day we truly started this journey together (because lets face it, I did a majority of the work from April-December 14th). It’s a little tough that we can’t have all her family here to celebrate but it’s ok. We’re just so proud of where she is today, all the milestones she’s reaching.
Watch out world….she took a step on her own yesterday…..

Because everything is easy when you’re effin Mariah Carey and have people to move your arms and legs for you to lose the weight. The day-to-day plan that works for me is walking to and from my car on UT’s campus because they seem miles apart. Then I eat a donut.
Raise your hand if you can finally sleep now that Mariah lost the baby weight.
I’m raising my hand. Actually, I’m so relieved that I’m raising both of my hands. And, if I had a third hand, I’d raise that one too.
Jovie attended her first reception for my friend Jeana’s art opening in a gallery here in Austin. She must have felt right at home because she hammed it up while there. She learned how to snap with a co-worker, laughed and smiled with Jeana and her boyfriend, and generally just loved up EVERYONE that gave her an ounce of attention. I think now, at almost 11 months old, she might know that her future career will be in front of a large audience…..hopefully she understands that this doesn’t mean a strip club.

Part 1 of Jovie’s Halloween weekend….
Oh dangit! I forgot my pacifier back at the office….
Jovie is 8 months old! Almost 8 1/2 months old. She’s eating lots of solids, trying to walk and crawl, and she’s also trying to speak. She’s already said “Dada” and said “hi” and “mama” once each. She loves to say Dada though.
We’re moving this little angel to Austin, TX this week, which is why I’ve been absent the last few months. I’ve been searching for jobs and we’ve been preparing to move. Much more updates once we get settled, but wish us luck! Texas, Jovie is coming!!
Maybe except the fact that she’s been teething for like 80 months. Otherwise, she’s great! She is sitting up all on her own. She’s trying to talk. She just learned how to clap a few days ago. She wants to crawl, but can’t quite figure it out yet and that frustrates her VERY much.
I know I need to post new pictures and video because she’s just so big and beautiful and wonderful. Since my actual laptop decided to turn on for now, I might get lucky this week and can work from the living room and post all kinds of Jovie goodness.
